National Tequila Day and Tales of the Cocktail!

July 24 – otherwise known as National Tequila Day. For those of you who know me well know that I’m a sucker for a good ol’ Margarita. I believe I’ve actually put a trademark on the phrase “the good, the bad, and the slushie” TM! (Maybe that should be a future Tumblr project – a photo presentation of all sorts of different Margarita concoctions I come across in my travels….hmmmm….)

I’m deeply saddened that National Tequila Day lands the night before I’m headed off to Tales of the Cocktail, as I’m trying to stave off alcohol in a pre-detox to Tales (a pre-tox, if you will!). Though there is a very good chance that I may cave for a classic Margarita at home. Kayla actually featured an awesome Peach Paloma recipe over at Cocktail Culture that uses Hiram Walker Peach Schnapps in addition to some beloved tequila.

As I earlier mentioned, I’m headed tomorrow back to the Crescent City for Tales of the Cocktail! I’m so excited for this year’s Tales, as it is the 10th anniversary of the festival and I’m sure there will be no shortage of fun, familiar faces, and plenty of Sazeracs to go around.

I will try to update the blog over the next couple of days, but the best way to keep up with all my action in New Orleans is to follow the Twitter feeds – you can see my updates over at @Drinks4TheHouse and my personal handle, @stephaniejerzy. If that’s not enough, the hash tag #totc should provide plenty of boozey bits as well!

Looking forward to all the action still to come this week and then it’ll be time to give my liver a well-deserved rest!

Cheers!
SJ
